CRP7: Climate Change

This program aims to support food security, enhanced livelihoods, and improved environmental management in the face of climate change. It will offer developing country farmers new options for adapting to the emerging impacts of climate change and for mitigating climate change through a “carbon-friendly” agriculture that also strengthens food security and reduces poverty. The research will focus on adaptation through better management of agricultural risks associated with increased climate variability and extreme events; accelerated adaptation to progressive climate change via technology, agronomy, and policy options; and mitigation strategies that reduce poverty among the rural poor, including investments in technological innovation and agricultural intensification.
