CGIAR Fund Council Holds Second Meeting
The Second CGIAR Fund Council meeting took place July 14 and July 16, 2010, at FAO headquarters in Rome, Italy. Items on the agenda included the Fund Council Rules of Procedure, an update from the Consortium Board, CGIAR Fund establishment documents, the CGIAR Fund Governance Framework, Mega Program proposal assessment process and criteria, fast tracked Mega Program proposals, 2011 Program Budget and CGIAR Financing Status Overview for 2011. One fast-tracked Mega Program, the Global Rice Science Partnership (GRiSP), was presented to the Fund Council for its consideration. The GRiSP proposal was not submitted adequately in advance of the Fund Council meeting to allow for the Council to make a decision on the proposal. Nonetheless, the Council discussed the proposal and will take a decision on it at the Council’s next meeting in November 2010.
