CGIAR Fund

During the 3rd CGIAR Fund Council meeting held in Washington, DC November 1-2, 2010, Fund donors confirmed the leadership and members of the new CGIAR ISPC. Appointments of the Chair and Members of the ISPC are effective January 1, 2011. They are: 

	Kenneth Cassman (ISPC Chair), and Heuemann Professor of Agronomy Chair,  University of Nebraska, USA.
	Vibha Dhawan, Executive Director for Planning and Coordination, The Energy and Resources Institute, New Delhi, India.
	Margaret Gill, Chief Scientific Adviser for Rural Affairs and Environment, Government of Scotland, and Professor of Integrated Land Use, School of Geosciences, University of Aberdeen, Scotland.
	Rashid Hassan, Professor and Director, Centre for Environmental Economics and Policy in Africa, University of Pretoria, South Africa.
	Marcio de Miranda Santos, Executive Director, Center for Strategic Management and Studies on Science, Technology and Innovation, Brasilia, Brazil.
	Jeffrey Sayer, Professor, School of Earth and Environmental Sciences, James Cook University, Cairns, Australia.  A member of the interim ISPC, Sayer will continue for a 2-year term to provide continuity.
	Derek Byerlee,  Chair of the ISPC's Standing Panel on Impact Assessment (until end of 2011). He joins the inaugural ISPC as an ex-officio member. Derek is also currently a member of the Steering Committee, High Level Panel of Experts, World Committee on Food Security. He served as co-leader of the team that developed the World Bank's 2008 World Development Report: Agriculture for Development.
